Google requires that in order to use a map on the website, an API key must be obtained.
On the property page of the website, under the 'location' section, the Google Map displays the general area of where the applicable property is located. In order for the map to successfully show the area, a Google API Key must be obtained by the Property Manager.
The API key is a unique identifier that is used to authenticate requests associated with the website.
How to Obtain the API Key
To obtain a Google API key for the website, please login to your Google Account and click here.
Follow the instructions within Google's documentation to get the key for your account.
How to Apply the Key to CiiRUS
To add the Google API key to CiiRUS, go to:
- Account Settings
- User Account
- Settings Assistant
- Navigate to "Guest Pass"
- Copy & paste the Google API key into the field
Once the key has been added to CiiRUS, please note, it may take up to an hour to show on the map on the website.
